What Is Wrong With The British Film Industry.

What is wrong with the British film industry?

The British film industry has always been criticised. “If one were to dramatize the history of the British film industry, it probably wouldn't be a film at all. A soap opera would suit it better.” Three quarters of feature films made in Britain never get distributed at all, and Hollywood is the main source of good films. Although British films are criticised, the UK is known for their technical excellence, fantastic actors and top notch actors. If the UK is so grim, why do the Studios still make the Harry Potter and James Bond movies here? Fewer movies are being made in the UK. That means less work for technicians and a slowdown. Films like the kings speech revived the British film industry, with it being such a huge hit worldwide people started to remember how good British films actually are and what good quality they can be. Whilst Britain's talented actors, directors and movie blockbusters are always popular, there has been little discussion on the ways in which we are investing in the future of the UK film industry. Britain continues to be favoured as one of the most attractive locations for overseas producers and investors. Some people say that the genre of the films are the reason for the British film industries downfall over the past few years, but other disagree and say that the few films that are coming out are fantastic and the genre is amazing.
